chimney detail in Fanzazo Italy

Welcome.
The Muse struck hard on April 25, 2011. On that day seven full blown ideas came to me. Not all were good but the ideas took me in a direction I had not thought about in thirty eight years, silkscreen design. I graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1973 with a BFA in ceramics, however my second love in school was prints, specifically lithography and silkscreen prints. After graduation a music opportunity presented itself and I did not re-examine my art options until recently. Two years ago I started working in computer aided graphic design.

On April 25 the idea of melding the two media, digital design and silkscreen design, was born.

The artwork is designed to be silk-screened using color separations and no fountain fill color shading (shading is old school, using halftones) but is printed on an inkjet photo printer instead of laid down with squeegee and screen.

I hope you enjoy the results. Visit often as there is always something new showing up.
